Common questions

Frequently asked

Which versions of Windows are supported?

Windows 10 (version 1809 or later) and Windows 11, on 64-bit Intel/AMD and ARM PCs.

Which browsers does it work with?

Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Brave. WebPrivacy Pro reads the site open in your active tab, so no browser extension is needed.

I don't see any alerts. Is it working?

By default we only alert for risky sites, so a quiet day is a good day. Use "Send test alert" in Settings to check notifications. If nothing appears, open Windows Settings → System → Notifications and make sure WebPrivacy Pro is allowed and Do not disturb is off.

A safe site was flagged. What should I do?

Open the site in History and choose "Trust this site" so it never alerts again, then use "Report a mistake" so we can fix it for everyone.

A dangerous site wasn't flagged.

No checker catches everything, especially sites that appeared minutes ago. Add it to your blocked list and report it to us so we can investigate.

What data leaves my PC?

Only the domain name of the site you open (for example, example.com), sent over an encrypted connection. Full links, page content, passwords and personal details never leave your PC.

Does it slow down my browsing?

No. Checks run in the background after the page starts loading, and sites you revisit are answered instantly from a local cache.

How do I uninstall?

Open Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps, find WebPrivacy Pro and choose Uninstall. Your local history is removed with it.
