Privacy Policy

We check websites, not people. Here is exactly what the app sends, what stays on your PC, and for how long.

Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Technovo Web India Private Limited, operating as WebPrivacy Pro ("we", "us") handles information when you use the WebPrivacy Pro Windows app (the "App") and the website at webprivacypro.com (the "Website").

Our approach is simple: we check websites, not people. We collect the minimum needed to protect you and we never sell your data.

Summary

  • The App sends only the domain name of sites you open (for example, example.com) for checking. Never full links, page content, passwords, form data or personal details.
  • Your browsing history stays on your PC, is never uploaded, and is deleted automatically.
  • Private and incognito windows are skipped by default.
  • Payments are handled by Microsoft Store. We never see your card details.
  • No advertising, no selling or renting of data, no tracking cookies on the Website.

Information the App processes

Domain names for checking. When you open a website, the App reduces its address to the domain name and checks it. If the result is not already stored on your PC, the domain is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our checking service. Domain checks are not linked to your name or account.

Device registration. On first run the App creates a random installation token and reads an anonymous, publisher-specific device identifier provided by Windows. We use these to operate your licence, to prevent abuse and to limit request rates. They do not identify you personally.

Licence checks. The App confirms that this copy is licensed when it starts and roughly twice a day after that. The licence itself is read from the Microsoft Store on your own PC; a check reaches us only to ask whether a promo code applies to your installation token. No browsing information is involved, and the result of each check is stored only on your PC.

Technical data. Our servers receive your IP address and basic request information (time, App version) as part of normal internet traffic. We use it for security and to keep the service running, and keep it only in short-lived logs.

Diagnostics. If the App crashes, Microsoft may collect crash reports through Windows and the Microsoft Store and share them with us in aggregated form. If we add our own crash or usage reporting, it will be opt-in and described here first.

Information kept only on your PC. Your check history, trusted and blocked site lists and settings are stored locally in your Windows user profile and are never uploaded to us. We cannot see them. You can clear history at any time, and it is deleted automatically after the period you choose (30 days by default).

Third-party services we use

To check a domain, our service may query these providers. They receive the domain being checked and our server's details, not your identity:

  • Google Web Risk: lists of known phishing, malware and unwanted-software sites.
  • Domain registration data (RDAP): public registry records used to find a domain's age.
  • Cloudflare: hosts our checking service and stores cached results.
  • Microsoft Store: distributes the App and processes purchases under Microsoft's own privacy statement.

We may add or replace providers; any provider that receives personal data will be listed here.

Information from the Website

The Website does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and its fonts are served from our own server. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security.

If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message and use them only to reply and to improve the App (for example, to fix a wrong warning you reported).

How we use information

  • To check websites and show you alerts.
  • To provide your licence and access to the App.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
  • To answer support requests and fix errors, including false warnings.
  • To comply with the law.

Legal basis and consent

The App asks for your consent on first run before it starts checking websites. You can withdraw consent at any time by pausing protection or uninstalling the App. Where laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the EU/UK GDPR apply, we process data on the basis of your consent, to provide the service you asked for, and for our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure.

How long we keep information

  • Cached domain verdicts: up to 30 days, not linked to any user.
  • Device registration and licence records: while you use the App, and up to 24 months after, so a purchase can be restored and abuse prevented.
  • Server security logs: up to 30 days.
  • Support messages: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
  • Local history on your PC: the period you choose, until you clear it, or until you uninstall.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We share it only with the service providers listed above to run the App, when required by law, or to protect our users and service from fraud or abuse. If WebPrivacy Pro is sold or merged, this policy will continue to apply to data collected under it.

Security

All communication between the App and our service is encrypted. Your history, lists and settings stay on your own PC and are never uploaded to us. Access to our systems is restricted to people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the authorities of a breach where the law requires.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to nominate someone to act for you. To use these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within 30 days.

You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours, including India, the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page when our practices change and revise the "Last updated" date. For significant changes, we will also tell you in the App before they take effect.
